Alejandra Arevalo

Alejandra Arevalo is a bilingual freelance journalist for San José Spotlight.

She studied journalism and sociology at New York University, where she worked as deputy editor for the school’s newspaper. Alejandra’s reporting focuses on telling underrepresented stories and has experience covering several beats including social justice, food, real estate, entertainment and politics.

She is the first senior editor of Mi Voz Media, a digital publication focused on people of color in the arts. Whenever she isn’t writing, drawing or photographing, you can find her biking around the city or playing with her cat Mochi.
