Alexandria Bordas

Alexandria Bordas (she/they) is the managing editor of San José Spotlight.

Her career as a journalist has spanned more than 10 years, and she previously worked for the San Francisco Chronicle as an investigative reporter, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, the Asheville Citizen-Times and the Miami Herald.

In 2022, she was awarded Journalist of the Year by the Society of Professional Journalists’ Northern California chapter for her work on a series that exposed sexual assault allegations involving a powerful mayor and winery owner. She graduated from California State University-Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in communications and international politics. In 2017, she earned a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.

She is a first-generation Cuban-American and lives in Santa Cruz.
