Carly Wipf

Carly Wipf is the San Jose City Hall reporter for San José Spotlight.

Carly got her start in journalism when she was 16 as a writer for AccessLocal.TV in her hometown of Sacramento.

She moved to the Bay Area to study at San Francisco State University and received a BA in journalism. As a reporter for the university paper, she covered protests, homelessness, police use of force and other metropolitan affairs in San Francisco.

Carly has written for the Bay Area publications El Tecolote and LocalNewsMatters. She has also covered Yolo County business and arts for the Davis Enterprise.

She believes in the fierce power of local news and is excited to keep San Jose residents up to date on the city politics that impact their lives.
