She grew up in East Side San Jose and attended Santa Clara University before moving to the East Coast to study journalism at Columbia.

She is most interested in doing stories that highlight injustice and show how policies impact families and their communities.

Prior to moving to Washington, Elizabeth covered the 2016 election with Telemundo’s political unit in Miami and worked as an assignment editor for Al Jazeera America in New York.
