Grace has spent the last year and a half covering mainly local government, health and business in Santa Clara County. She is passionate about investigative journalism and telling stories that need to be heard.
After her graduation from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2017, she got her professional start as a reporter and editor for the Los Altos Town Crier. At the Town Crier, she heavily covered the Los Altos City Council and Planning Commission where she often wrote about the city’s housing crisis and push for a new community center. Grace also covered crime for both Los Altos and Mountain View, breaking several stories about misconduct by a Mountain View High School teacher.
While at the University of Missouri, Grace received degrees in investigative reporting and political science. She was a part of the only student affiliated PolitiFact team – PolitiFact Missouri – and fact-checked public officials like former Missouri governor Eric Greitens and former senator Claire McCaskill. She also worked as a general assignment reporter and audience engagement editor for the Missouri School of Journalism-affiliated newspaper, the Columbia Missourian.
Grace has been nominated for awards from both the California Newspaper Publishers Association and the Missouri Press Association. She’s excited to start covering a new community and be a part of an organization that delivers high-quality local journalism.
