Annalise Freimarck is a reporter excited to cover politics and local government in Campbell, Los Gatos and Cupertino for San José Spotlight.
Before joining the San José Spotlight team full-time, she spent three summers reporting on her hometown for the nonprofit newsroom. She is passionate about telling real human stories that leave a lasting impact on the communities she reports on.
She has experience reporting on homelessness, immigration and LGBTQ+ issues. She even reported on a historic archeological dig and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty to report important stories. She graduated from Boston University, where she studied journalism and English — and learned how to survive a New England winter.
